Amy Winehouse - stronger than me

Here's some Amy Winehouse when she looked like she was actively engaged in the process! No bird's nest hairdo and no dark cat-eye make-up and...playing guitar! I would probably have listened to her, had I "caught her act" at this time period! A damn shame what happened to her! Love how peeps keep writing about how they were "friends" with her or whatever. I just want to say to all her "friends:" where were you when she was slipping away right in front of EVERYONE?! A damn crying SHAME!! :-(

Colbie Caillat - Realize (AOL Sessions)

I love this young lady's voice. Just bawled my way through this entire song. She gets to me, every time, with her lyrics! That 'Hopeless Romantic' thing! :-/ (Is it me or...does she also sound a bit like Dido? The first time I heard her, I thought it was Dido!)

Hope you enjoy!

Lyrics:

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side
Didn't I, Didn't I tell you.

But I can't spell it out for you,
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you

If you'd just realize what I just realized,
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

Take time to realize
Oh-oh I'm on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you.
Take time to realize
That this all could pass you by
Didn't I tell you

But I can't spell it out for you,
No its never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you.

If you'd just realize what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other but..

It's not the same
No it's never the same
If you don't feel it too.
If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way.
It could be the same for you.

If you'd just realize what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder

Just realize what I just realized
If you'd just realize what I just realized

OoOoOOo

Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now, yeah

Realize
Realize
Realize
Realize

Gungor - "Call Me Out"

LOVE this band's sound; hope you do, too! :-D

Lyrics:

I keep on falling
I keep on falling short
This world keeps bringing me down
You keep on calling
You keep on calling me
I’ll keep on running
I’ll keep on running home

This world is dying
This old world’s dying now
But a new one’s dawning
And You keep calling us out

Out, call me out,
You’re calling me out

Tamia - Tomorrow (2001)

Not the best recording BUT...imagine if you had been there! She's got a beautiful voice and is a very beautiful woman.

This is a song I heard many years ago that moved me to tears it's that beautiful. It's about not missing out on the most important opportunity of your life and how waiting to make the decision to follow Christ just so ISN'T worth it!

I hope you enjoy and that it speaks to you.

Lyrics:

Jesus said
'Here I stand, won't you please let me in?'
And you said
'I will tomorrow'

Jesus said
'I am He who supplies all your needs'
And you said
'I know, but tomorrow, ooh, tomorrow, i'll give my life
tomorrow, I thought about today, but it's so much easier to say'

Tomorrow, who promised you tomorrow,
better choose the lord today, for
tomorrow very well might be too late.

Jesus said
'Here I stand, won't you please take my hand?'
And you said
'I will tomorrow'

Jesus said
'I am He who supplies all your needs'
And you said
'I know, but tomorrow, ooh, tomorrow, i'll give my life
tomorrow, I thought about today oooohh,
but it's so much easier to say'

Tomorrow, who promised you tomorrow,
better choose the Lord today, for
tomorrow very well might be too late.

And who said tomorrow would ever come for you
still you laugh and play and continue on to say
'tomorrow'
forget about tomorrow won't you give
your life today oohh
please don't just turn and walk away
tomorrow, tomorrow is not promised
don't let this moment slip away
your tomorrow could very well begin today

Kerrie Roberts Maybe I'm Afraid

This is a relatively new Christian Artist. Kerrie Roberts has a beautiful voice and writes AMAZING songs! I LOVE the tempo of this song and...one of the things that I love so much about Christian music is the artists write lyrics with some real meaning behind them; not just "cotton candy fluff" like many of the secular artists write.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful song.

Lyrics:

There's no way I can hide
It's written on my face
And all these complications now...

Maybe I'm afraid
To open up and let You in
Behind the curtain

Maybe I'm afraid
Of the questions
That I know You'd raise
What I thought was certain

Maybe I'm afraid
Of the mess that it's sure to make
Of all I've tried to simplify and organize
But I just can't deny

That there's no way I can hide
It's written on my face
And all the complications
Fumbling with my equations now
They crumble to the ground
With everything I've fought to be
Without Your help
'Cause if I let You in
I'll never be the same
So I try to escape
Maybe I'm afraid

Maybe I'm afraid
To let it go and just accept
The love You've spoken

Maybe I'm afraid
Of the way that I know You'll fix
Everything that's broken

Or maybe I'm afraid
'Cause I don't know who You are
That the more I keep from You
The more I lose
So what am I holding on to?

There's no way I can hide
It's written on my face
And all the complications
Fumbling with my equations now
They crumble to the ground
With everything I've fought to be
Without Your help
'Cause if I let You in
I'll never be the same
So I try to escape

Maybe I'm afraid
Afraid I'll be complete
It's just so weak in Your hands

Maybe I'm afraid
Afraid that it won't last
And I'll only be half
Without You

Maybe I'm afraid
To let You change my heart
With all it's hiding

Maybe I'm afraid
That I just might fall apart
Unless You're beside me

And I know there's no way I can hide
It's written on my face
And all the complications
Fumbling with my equations now
They crumble to the ground
With everything I've fought to be
Without Your help
'Cause if I let You in
I'll never be the same
No, I can't escape
But maybe I'm afraid

Maybe I'm afraid
Maybe I'm afraid
Maybe I'm afraid
Maybe, maybe, maybe I'm afraid

Patti LaBelle - Somebody Loves You Baby (You Know Who It Is)

You know what? Sometimes I really miss the Motown of the 80's! I LOVE Patti's AMAZING voice! Thought the vid was really nice, as well.

Hope you enjoy! :-)

"Cougatti" :-)

Sheesh! Nice body work but...$89K for it?! NUTS! It's just a 2002 Mercury Cougar coupe body and ENGINE with a "pretty" exterior! The coupe is only worth about $6K! Dude put 9 months of sweat equity into it. Think his sweat equity is worth $83K (taking the coupe cost out of here, of course)?! If that's the case, dude is paying himself $9,222.22 a month for that "little" project!! (LOVE it! ALL those 2's! lol! :-)

Is there a SUCKER out there that is willing to pay this price, I wonder?! I'll eat my hat, if there is!!!!!!! But...it is "pretty" to look at! I'd rather just buy the REAL DEAL (if I could, of course! ;-) 'cuz...it's not ALL about what's on the outside; right, my friends? Much of what a person is buying one for...is under the hood! :-P WISH guys "got" that about women, as well! :-(

Jaycee Dugard

Well...I'm going to hit a pretty tough subject, here, because I feel that it is so very important. It's about the safety of children, in this country (any country, really...of course), against sexual predators. It's been swept under the rug for way too long, I believe, and...thankfully, Jaycee grabbed the "bull by the horns" and tackled it like the bravest person I have ever heard of, in her new memoir 'A Stolen Life.' Of course, it was just released but, if you haven't heard about this case, Diane Sawyer did an interview with Jaycee, just a couple of nights ago. This particular case, after clearing quite a few cobwebs in my mind, hit pretty close to home because I was living in the state at the time and...I can remember Jaycee as well as several other young girls going missing around about the same time and...I stayed fixed to the television, morning and night, hoping for good outcomes for all of them!

And...here is another interview from the time (gosh how time flies! It didn't seem that long ago!) that Jaycee was found. It's heartbreaking and gut wrenching; and...many will just want to [do the usual]: turn a blind eye to a very prevalent problem in our nation - that of the many children that go missing each and every year.

In addition to that issue, is also the APPALLING and OUTRAGEOUS manner in which MONTHLY visits to this pedophile ENTIRELY MISSED - 60 TIMES!!! - the fact that Jaycee was living out in the back yard, first in a LOCKED storage container and then, in a tent, for 18 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As DIFFICULT as it must have been to have to go through all the details, in detail, to write this HORRIFIC account, I am so in AWE of Jaycee for having made the effort...to educate parents, law enforcement, ALL of us in how to pay more attention and be more vigilant in the protection of young children EVERYWHERE!!

Thank you, Jaycee, for your bravery; and thank your mom for NEVER giving up hope that this HORRIFIC ordeal might someday end in a BEAUTIFUL REUNION! I am SO PROUD of you for your "Will of STEEL!" And...I'm SO PROUD of how AWESOME the first day of the sale of your book is doing! Bravo!

I believe that we ALL should read it...except, perhaps, for pedophiles! :-/ Perhaps they just ought to RUN to the nearest psychologist and get the HELP that they DESPERATELY NEED!! When I hear about these men, I, often, wonder what their childhoods were like; and...where do their ferocious, twisted, and SICK "appetites" for children come from: was it their own undiscovered childhood horrors that exacerbates this type of behavior; is it fueled from having looked at nude magazines, like Ted Bundy, himself, claims is where it began for him? Sadly, many (all?) seem to be psychotic and also get into believing that they are "god" or some "supreme being," like in Elizabeth Smart's case, as well. We need to find ways of dealing with people that "seem strange" WAY before it's on the other end of a string of victims, dammit! There were SEVERAL events that lead up to this case, as were shown on the 2nd interview! How can things go so awry, you wonder? And how can an agency, who is "supposed to" be "keeping watch" on people like this, be so IGNORANT and LAZY?! I tell you what, though: they need to have more than ONE person go into a home like that as...those people are not well! How they end up being left unattended, for ONE MINUTE, is a mystery to me! :-(

Please read the book and...GET EDUCATED about how to help "keep watch" over ALL of our children...TOGETHER!

Chris August - 7x70 (Video)

The hardest thing to do but...I "get" it. Here is also Chris August's brief story about his creating of this song. Hope you "get" it and enjoy.

Renee Olstead - Summertime

Here's a young lady that I've known about, for a few years. I think she's an excellent singer of songs from an era that preceded her; and...she has had this knack, at quite a young age, as well. In fact, she put out her first album at the "ripe old age" of...11!!

Here's her bio and...wow...how I didn't even realize that she had been a child actress, as well, at the whopping beginning age of...6 was quite a surprise to discover! One of my most favorite songs that she does, I haven't been able to find on uboob but it's called 'Slow Boat To China.' It's SO CUTE! I'll just keep looking for it! I, actually, thought that I had already posted this song but came to discover that I hadn't, tonight. I must have [the usual] gotten distracted, somewhere along the line! :-/

Hope you enjoy!

Switchfoot - Happy Is a Yuppie Word (Official Music Video)

This is one of my top 3 favorite Christian bands. This is one of their older songs. It's a pretty cool vid: they "played" under water... The lead singer, Jon Foreman, and his brother, Tim, also in the band, are surfers so...perhaps that is why they goofed around with the water idea. :-)

Hope you enjoy!

Lyrics:

Everyone dies
Everyone loves a fight
Nothing is sound
Nothing is right side right
Evening comes, when the sun goes down in red
Nothing is cool
When will all the fighting end
When will all the fighting end

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
It's empty as an argument
I'm running down a life that won't cash out (cash out)

Everything fails
Everything runs it's course
A time and a place, for all of this loving war
Everyone buys, everyone's gotta price, and nothing is new
When will all the failures rise
When will all the failures rise, rise!

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
It's empty as an argument
I'm running down a life that won't cash out

Happy is a yuppie word
Blessed is the man who's lost it all
Happy is a yuppie word (word)

Looking for an orphanage
I'm looking for a bridge I can't burn down
I don't believe the emptiness
I'm looking for the kingdom coming down
Everything is meaningless
I want more than simple cash can buy
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie,

Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
Happy is a yuppie word (word)

So calm down, yeah!
So calm down, yeah!
So calm down, yeah!

We'll Meet Again - Vera Lynn

Grew up singing some of these old war tunes, piano side.

Lyrics:

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away

So, will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away

So, will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day...

Ruth Etting - You're The Cream In My Coffee

How CUTE is this song?! (all Ray's fault; sending me down the path of the 'Roaring 20's!' ;-) Kind of the opposite of what this young lady, shockingly, had to say, in 'Airplane.' lol! :-/

Lyrics:

You’re the cream in my coffee,
You’re the salt in my stew;
You will always be my necessity--
I’d be lost without you.

You’re the starch in my collar,
You’re the lace in my shoe;
You will always be my necessity--
I’d be lost without you.

Most men tell love tails,
And each phrase dovetails.
You’ve heard each known way,
This way is my own way.

You’re the sail of my love boat,
You’re the captain and crew;
You will always be my necessity--
I’d be lost without you.

You give life savor,
Bring out its flavor;
So this is clear, dear,
You’re my worcestershire, dear.

You’re the sail of my love boat,
You’re the captain and crew;
You will always be my necessity--
I’d be lost without you.

(I totally "get" what this woman is singing about! Such cute analogies! :-)

TAP movie clip 01

Here's a movie that I'd like to watch, sometime. I LOVED to watch Gregory Hines tap! He's AMAZING!

(there's a couple more clips, after this one, as well. :-)

Hope you enjoy!
